We're so excited! We have an incredible weekend getaway planned for 30 of our favorite people. Yes, that's you!
~ Rachel & Philip
We can't wait!
For a truly immersive Charleston experience and a responsible party atmosphere, we’ve arranged complimentary round-trip trolley service for our guests.
Middleton Place is in a beautifully remote setting with expansive grounds, so arriving together on the trolley is the easiest and most seamless way to start the celebration. We'd truly love for all of our guests to arrive collectively.
Guests who choose to drive will need detailed parking and arrival instructions to avoid getting separated from the group.
The shuttle will depart promptly at 1:30 PM, with a special tour guide waiting for you upon arrival.

For those flying in, Charleston International Airport (CHS) is your best option. It’s just a quick 6-minute drive to our recommended hotels and about 20 minutes to downtown Charleston.
to Charleston
Instead of reserving a single hotel block, we picked a lively area with a wide variety of nearby hotels at different price points, giving our guests the freedom to stay wherever feels most comfortable. There are over 10 hotels within walking distance of each other, along with plenty of dining and shopping options nearby.
Our wedding trolley will provide round-trip transportation from the Crowne Plaza in North Charleston. You’re welcome to stay anywhere you’d like, even outside this area — just be sure to make your way to the Crowne Plaza for trolley pickup.

The evening before we say “I do,” we would love to welcome all our guests to Charleston with mingling, great food, and cheers.
Cocktail attire requested.
If you’d like to share a toast, this will be the time to do so! There will be no formal toasts on the wedding day.

Join us for a casual farewell at The Cottages on Charleston Harbor as we wrap up the weekend with our favorite people.

We can’t wait to see you dressed to the nines! Guests are encouraged to wear formal floor-length dresses or gowns and dark suits or tuxedos, with room for personal flair—gentlemen, colorful ties or bow ties are welcome. Since many of our events will be outdoors in the evening, cooler temperatures are possible, so consider bringing a light layer.
To complement our wedding design and photography, we’d love for guests to wear colors that coordinate with our palette shown below.
Wedding Day
We believe that life experiences are the most precious gifts of all. We’ve poured so much heart into creating a meaningful weekend that we hope stays with each of our guests long after the celebration ends. Your presence truly is the greatest gift to us.
For those who wish to give something more, we’ve created a honeymoon fund to help support our next big adventure together.

Charleston is a city full of history, charm, and beautiful small moments — and it holds a special place in our hearts. If you have extra time before or after the wedding, we hope you’ll explore a bit and experience the magic that made us fall in love with this place.
Charleston
This is where we got engaged, and it remains one of our very favorite places to visit. Long walks along the shoreline and dolphin spotting during the winter months make it especially magical.
A few of our favorite stops include:
Charleston Visitors Bureau -
If you’re looking to build out your itinerary or explore beyond our personal favorites, the Charleston Visitors Bureau is an excellent resource for attractions, tours, restaurants, events, and seasonal recommendations.
Fans of the incredible movie, The Notebook, may want to visit a few iconic filming locations around Charleston:
Historic Downtown Charleston -
Charleston is home to one of the largest historic districts in the nation, with miles of preserved cobblestone streets, colorful architecture, hidden gardens, and classic Southern charm. We’ve spent countless hours wandering these streets together, soaking in the beauty at every turn.
The main tourist shopping location is The Market, an open-air vendor booth style experience filled with local artists and Charleston chotchskys. Start at the corner of Meeting St and Market under the Museum at Market Hall.
From charming local boutiques to well-known brands, downtown Charleston offers some of the best shopping in the Southeast. King Street is the main shopping corridor, with historic storefronts, art galleries, handmade goods, and great coffee spots sprinkled along the way. Start on foot on the corner of King and Calhoun and follow the one-way traffic for miles of shopping enjoyment and street performers.

Charleston is a dream destination for food lovers, and narrowing down favorites is nearly impossible — but these spots always rise to the top for incredible meals, atmosphere, and local flavor:
The term “Blind Tiger” comes from the Prohibition era, when illegal bars would charge guests a small “admission fee” to see an “exotic animal,” and drinks were secretly served inside — bypassing liquor laws. These hidden speakeasies became known as Blind Tigers. Charleston embraced the tradition, and today the Blind Tiger Pub honors that playful history while offering one of the most inviting courtyards in the city.
During our trip to London, we went on a hunt to find the best fish n chips in the world, only to realize that it’s literally in our hometown! You must try it! There’s a location near the hotel recommendations.
Philip eats here weekly! They are always busy, but the line goes quickly and it’s worth the wait for best brisket you've ever had.
Grit bowls, chicken and waffles, and more giant portioned southern dishes. Very close to your hotels and super yum!
Vern’s is the first restaurant in Charleston to receive a Michelin star. If you end up making a reservation here, let me (Rachel) know if it’s worth the hype! I’ve always wanted to go!
The first place Philip tried rare tuna! Joy claims it's also the best clam chowder she's ever had. Rachel has celebrated two birthdays here and countless visits. Close to the Market downtown.
If you find yourself strolling through historic district, specifically around Chalmers St (Rachel's FAVORITE street in all of Charleston), there's a hidden gem that you must try. It's a great place for a sweet treat.
The first place Philip tried Indian food. Another weekly occurrence for us is Malai Kofta and Paneer Tikka Masala with Okra Fries. Want something with more protein? Their Butter Chicken is excellent. Don't forget the garlic naan to dip in the sauce.
The best place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also the best place to meet new friends. Reminds Philip of Cheers, "where everyone knows your name." Just tell 'em Philip sent you, they'll know what to do.
